Oil is Dumb

To participate in the October, 2009 No-Brainer you must Change a Light Bulb from an old incandescent to a new compact fluorescent (CFL) or an LED.  Oil is Dumb will pay you $3 for each light bulb you replace, up to 4 bulbs.

The Light Bulb Shop is a local Austin store that stocks over 7,000 types of bulbs.  See them for ANY light bulb made.  They were green before green was cool.



1.  Change up to 4 incandescent light bulbs in your home to CFLs or LEDs.

2.  Document it (three easy options):
       a.  Send us a receipt of your CFL or LED purchase.  Send to Oil is Dumb No-Brainers, 3316 Guadalupe, Suite 219, Austin, TX 78705
       b.  Send us a photo of your receipt to no-brainers@oilisdumb.com.
       c.  Send us a photo of your light bulbs.  (Must be a single photo that contains both the old incandescent and the new CFL or LED for *each* bulb you are replacing.  Please limit photo size to 500 kb.)

3.  Give us your info and set payment preferences here.

4.  We pay you up to $12.  (We're basically buying the bulbs for you!)

BONUS:  $50 bonus drawing for participants who choose to send a photo of the light bulbs.



Valid entries will be accepted through our online form.  Accompanying emails must be sent to no-brainers@oilisdumb.com.  Hard copy receipts may be sent to Oil is Dumb No-Brainers, 3316 Guadalupe, Suite 219, Austin, TX 78705.  Challenge entries must be received by the end of Saturday, October 31, 2009.  Valid entries must be received by midnight (Central Standard Time) of that day.  Oil is Dumb will send you an award of $3 for each light bulb you replace, up to 4 bulbs.  Maximum award per entry is $12.  We also pay via PayPal.  If you prefer PayPal, please indicate this in our online form.  Limit one entry per household.  Offer is open to the general public, and there are no special membership requirements for Oil is Dumb.  Offer limited to first 100 entrants.  Please limit photo attachment to 500 kb.  Photos submitted become the property of Oil is Dumb and may be used for marketing purposes.

Tips and information:

- CFLs last for 10 times as long as standard incandescent bulbs.
- CFLs are now very cheap, often less than $3 each.  If you do this No-Brainer, we are basically buying the bulbs for you!
