FAQ
Where do you get your money? We get our income from website sales, advertising, sponsors, and private donations from individuals who want to make a real, concrete difference in helping the environment. We have two types of sponsors. Our Ad Sponsors place advertisements on our website by sponsoring an individual No-Brainer Challenge. Our Match Sponsors are companies we connect you to in the course of our No-Brainer Challenges, surveys, and your requests to find a company that can help you make a specific change in your home to conserve energy or live greener. (We absolutely never share your information with a third party company without your express permission. For more details see our Privacy Policy.)
If you want to support our efforts in aggressively encouraging individual awareness and conservation, you can buy a t-shirt or bumper sticker to help us spread our message. If you want to make a monetary donation please email info@oilisdumb.com. Thanks everyone for your support.
How long will it take to get my No-Brainer award? We send checks via First Class Mail when the No-Brainer challenge period has expired (usually at the end of the month). We love paying via PayPal because it conserves resources and you get your award faster! If you prefer to be paid via PayPal, please indicate this in your No-Brainer challenge entry. We credit PayPal awards within a few days.
What does 100% guarantee mean? It
means if you are not satisfied with your purchase of a product on our
website for any reason, you can return your order for a full refund. To
receive a refund, you must return your order within 30 days, or in the
case of a donation, notify us within 30 days.
How long will it take to get my stuff? We ship via First Class Mail. It takes 1-3 business days.
Isn't it strange to have a bumper sticker on your car that says Oil is Dumb? Not at all. We want to help change the actions of everyday people. Our target audience is not environmentalists or people who have changed their entire lives to live green. It is everyday people, and everyday people drive cars.
But aren't bumper stickers made with oil? Yes. Our bumper stickers are made with vinyl, and they use oil. Also, our t-shirts take energy to produce, and oil to ship, and require resources like cotton and ink. However, we offset more oil than we use, along with ten other environmental dimensions of interest. Which means we are eco-negative. To learn how we do this (and see why we are the first company in the world to do this!) click here.
What is your privacy policy? We do not share your billing information, email, preferences in green living products, interest in home energy solutions or any other personal information with anyone except with your express permission. You may see our full Privacy Policy.
